Newmont Corporation is the world’s leading gold company with a world-class portfolio of assets in North and South America, Australia and Africa. It is the only gold producer in the S&P 500 Index, and is widely recognised for its ESG practices and as a leader in value creation, safety and mine execution. It delivered the gold industry’s first Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) fleet to its Boddington mine in Western Australia which will improve both mine safety and productivity as well as its life. It is now expected to produce 140koz fewer ounces of gold than originally anticipated in FY21. However, during commissioning, the project faced a number of challenges, which has reduced expected production for FY21 by 140koz. Edison’s valuation of US$100/share still offers upside.
